JA New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame - Year Eight!

The 2016 Junior Achievement New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame will mark the 20th Anniversary of this prestigious induction ceremony.  As part of the 20th Anniversary Celebrations, we’re taking a look back at the previous 19 events that brought us to year 20!  This week we’re bringing it back to 2004 to celebrate the 8th Annual Junior Achievement New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame!

In 2004, the New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame returned to Saint John and celebrated the induction of 3 deserving New Brunswick business greats.  The three deserving Laureates represented businesses like NBTel, Manulife Financial and NB Power!

CLASS OF 2004

Lino J. Celeste is the former president of NBTel and chairman of the board for Aliant Inc.  After completing an engineering degree, he began his career with the New Brunswick Telephone Company.  He’s been a member of the board of directors of Manulife Financial Corporation and NB Power.  Mr. Celeste is also well known for his many community endeavours.

H. Reuban Cohen, C.C., O.C. is a former lawyer and financier.  He guided Central Trust through many successful years and served as a director for several national and international companies.  He was the chancellor of Dalhousie University from 1990 to 1994.  While Mr. Cohen is well known for his business accomplishments, he is equally revered for his philanthropy and community work.

Howard P. Robinson was born in 1874 and was instrumental in founding the New Brunswick Telephone Company, the New Brunswick Publishing Company - publisher of the Saint John Telegraph Journal and Evening Times Globe, and the New Brunswick Broadcasting Company - operator of CHSJ.  In 1947, Mr. Robinson held 14 directorships.
